The Avon Gorge has reopened following a collision earlier this morning.

The busy road was closed between the Bowhouse Roundabout and the Avon Gorge shortly before 8am after a two car crash.

Drivers were being diverted via Linlithgow following the incident, but the route has now been reopened.

A Police Scotland spokesman said emergency services were alerted to the collision shortly before 7.50am.

One person was taken to hospital with injuries which were not thought to be life-threatening.
