Falkirk Provost Billy Buchanan has been praised for helping a project that brings basic sanitation to third world countries.
Councillor Buchanan donated £123 to the Toilet Twinning charity, which has the motto “flushing away poverty – one toilet at a time” and raises funds to support water and sanitation projects in some of the poorest places on Earth.
The provost said he was glad to help such a worthy cause and was told his donation had helped provide a latrine in Tando Allahyar, Sindh, in Pakistan.
