West Lothian College goes on air

BBC Radio Scotland's discussion show, 'Brian Taylor's Big Debate', has been broadcast live from West Lothian College's Business Partnership Centre.

Over 45 students, staff and members of the public, joined Brian and his panel of guests, including Ron Hewitt, Chief Executive of Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, Andy Walker, Vice Principal of Heriot Watt University, Joy Hendry, Editor of the Scottish literacy magazine 'Chapman', Angela Constance MSP and Michael Connarty MP, to discuss the week's big stories.

Topics covered on the day included the Haiti disaster, banking and the recession. The audience were also encouraged to join in the debate or pitch a question to Brian and his panel giving them the perfect opportunity to have their opinion heard.

Head of the West Lothian College Business Partnership Centre, Nancy Cooper, said: "This is the first time we have ever held a live event of this kind within the Business Partnership Centre and we were delighted to welcome Brian and his team.

"The event was a huge success and everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. It was also a great experience for our students, particularly those interested in working in the media or public affairs industry."

The West Lothian College Business Partnership Centre can cater for conference events of all sizes. All meeting rooms have flexible layouts and are fully ICT equipped. Free parking is also available and catering can be arranged on request.
