Post Office gutted in Bo'ness fire

A BUSY post office has burned to the ground in a horrific overnight fire.

The Newtown sub-post office in Baker Street, Bo'ness, has been left in ruins, and the blaze – thought to have been caused by an electrical fault – could put it out of business for months.

But this week owner Mohammad Sajid, who ploughed his life savings into the shop, vowed: 'We'll be back.'

The blaze was discovered by horrified shop staff as they went to open up early on Saturday, just minutes after neighbours reported smoke in a 999 call just before 7am.

Five fire engines and an aerial platform were used, with 32 firefighters tackling the blaze at its peak, including eight wearing breathing apparatus.
