New hospital just weeks away for Bo'ness patients

PATIENTS will move into the new Forth Valley Royal Acute Hospital at Larbert in 12 weeks time.

The first phase – that sees services transferred from Falkirk and District Royal Infirmary – was officially handed over to NHS officials by builders Laing O'Rourke on Monday.

Services, used by patients from the Bo'ness, Blackness and Whitecross areas, include renal dialysis, chemotherapy, day surgery, X rays, inpatient care following surgery and certain outpatient clinics.

A three month operation to orientate staff and install 30 million worth of equipment began almost immediately.

For more information, see this week's Journal and Gazette, on sale from Friday, May 14.
