Linlithgow couple get engaged on Rockies fundraiser
ON A fundraising expedition to the Rockies, one Linlithgow girl gained another impressive rock to add to her collection.
Scott Cockburn and girlfriend Louisa Sheppard cycled 400km of the Canadian Rockies this summer to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
And as well as smashing their fundraising target of 5,900 by raising over 6,000, Scott (25) proposed to Louisa (29) in one of the world's most beautiful locations – on the Athabasca glacier.
They started their five-day mammoth cycle from Canmore, Alberta with a 40km ride to Banff on what was their easiest day. It was then an uphill slog to reach Lake Louise, which provided spectacular views.
From there, the couple cycled 70km to the Saskatchewan crossing before heading to the Columbia Icefields.
