Hide AdDefence solicitor Murray Aitken told the court no background report had been prepared as his client had struggled to communicate with the social work department due to his not having a mobile phone at the time.
Mr Aitken asked Sheriff Derek Hamilton to consider giving Anderson a “further opportunity on bail” so a report could be prepared.
Addressing Stevenson, Sheriff Hamilton said: “Court proceedings are now being constructed in strange ways.
“What we don’t need is for those to continue. If there’s no report, you’re being remanded in custody.”
Sentence was deferred until February 18 for a report.
