The victim, who lives in Tiree Crescent, agreed for works to be carried out on his property – including paving and fence repairs. However, the two men did a shoddy job at best before taking the victim to the bank to get his money.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The original price quoted increased and eventually ran into several thousands of pounds. The standard of work, all of which is incomplete, is extremely poor.

The two suspects are both male, one is aged between 40 and 60, 5ft 6ins, of stocky build with short grey hair and spoke with a slight Irish accent.
The other is between 20 and 40, 5ft 8ins, of athletic build and was wearing a light coloured cap and jacket.
“The suspects are understood to be travelling in white transit van with an Irish number plate,” the police spokesperson continued. “These males have canvassed the area for a period of time, having agreed work on other properties to be carried out.”
