An offender stole £3500 in cash from Marks and Spencer over the period of a couple of months.

Appearing at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday, Mark McBriar (26) had admitted the theft from M&S, Port Street, Stirling between January 1 and February 21, in 2019.

The court heard McBriar, 75 Milton Row, Dunipace, was able to make a £1500 payment to his compensation order from money he received from the estate of his late mother.

Sheriff Christopher Shead allowed McBriar’s community payback order to continue.
