THREE youngsters from Queensferry starred on television this week when they took part in the programme "Copy Cats."

Heather and Euan Newlands and Heather Purdie, all aged 10, are members of the Scottish Youth Theatre who applied for an audition to the TV show last February.

The children, P6 pupils at Echline Primary, were successful in their audition and filmed the show at the BBC Scotland studios in Glasgow last May.

The CBBC programme, hosted by Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes, of Pop Idol fame, is a show where contestants are asked to complete a series of tasks such as mime, guess a tune, drawing and usually culminates in a race. The show, which was broadcast on Monday, featured the youngsters moving around a course inside a giant hamster ball.

The children's parents were also invited to take part in the show.
Heather's mum Fiona Purdie said: "It was a great day, the kids had a fantastic time but so did the adults!"
