The Kinneil Fortlet, Bo'ness and Rough Castle, Bonnybridge appears on the Clydesdale Bank's new £50 note which entered circulation on Monday.
The note is part of Clydesdale Bank's new world heritage note collection which showcases the best of Scotland's heritage, people and culture.

Billy Macleod, at Clydesdale Bank's Falkirk Financial Solutions Centre, said: "Having the Antonine Wall on the new £50 note reinforces the depth of the nation's history.

"The wall dissects Scotland, it was constructed in 142AD by the Romans and it stretches 60km (37 miles) from the east coast at Bo'ness to the west coast at Old Kilpatrick, near Glasgow."

Councillor Adrian Mahoney, convener of leisure, tourism and community, said: "This certainly puts the Falkirk district area on the map and I hope that more people will come and visit as a result."

He added: "The more £50 notes they bring with them to spend, the better!"

The notes were introduced to mark the year of the Homecoming, the front of each new note honours an innovative Scot while the reverse features one of Scotland's five World Heritage sites.

The Bank of England is hoping to issue a £50 note next year featuring Scots inventor James Watt who had a cottage in the grounds of Kinneil House.
