BLACKNESS book worms looked as if they'd stepped straight from the pages of their favourite novels last Thursday when the primary school celebrated World Book Day.

An array of fairies, Power Rangers and James Bonds were spotted joining in the celebrations. P1-3 class teacher Lesley Beattie said: "The aim is to promote reading and across the world people try to do it on the same day.

"In P1-3 we wrote our own stories during the day, that involved the children's characters. The children love dressing up and reading and are all quite enthusiastic."
