Artist's gift will help town's young people

Renowned artist John Lowrie Morrison has gifted 98 signed prints of the painting "Winter Falls on Linlithgow Palace" to Linlithgow Young People's Project.
The artist, known as Jolomo, handed over the prints in aceremony at Linlithgow Palace on Saturday to LYPP project manager Crawford Bell.
Crawford said: "The gesture will make a huge difference in the work we do and it will be the young people of Linlithgow who will benefit."
The original painting was used by First Minister Alex Salmond and his wife Moira for their 2007 Christmas card and was put on public display over the winter in Linlithgow's Tourist Information Centre.
The huge public interest in the painting led to the artist donating the prints to the young people's project.
The prints are now on sale for £50 at three locations in the town – the St John's Christian Centre, the Visitor Information Centre at the County Buildings and the West End Gallery. All proceeds from the sale of the prints will go to support the work of the LYPP. Each copy,
printed with a high quality finish, has been signed by Jolomo and will come with a certificate of authenticity. The West End Gallery will also make a donation to the young people's project for every print is is asked to frame.
