AROUND 124 pupils and teachers gathered at Donaldson’s School in Linlithgow to attempt to break the world record for singing and signing at the same time.

Locals involved in the Sign2 Sing event came from Donaldson’s and St Joseph’s Primary, and they are awaiting confirmation that the nationwide effort of people signing in British Sign Language along to selected songs, has made it into the Guinness Book of World Records. The current record stands at 94,489 children and adults signing and singing at the same time.

Lynne Learmonth at Donaldson’s said: “They all signed along to three songs at exactly 2.45pm along with thousands of other people from all over the UK. There were over 800 schools registered to take part in the Guinness Record attempt.”
