Bo’ness musicians play famous King Tut’s venue

POP rockers The Future Capital of Bo’ness hope the King Tut’s magic, that helped launched the career of musical giants Oasis, will rub off on their young shoulders.

The quartet graced the same Glasgow stage that has hosted the Mancunian legends, plus big names including Radiohead and The Killers.

Comprising brothers Allan (23) and Mark (19) Monaghan, Liam Duffy (19) and Kyle Grieve (17), the band practises at Cozy Blanket Youth Music Project’s Music Room at Bo’ness Recreation Centre.

A promoter for DF Concerts - who are involved with T In The Park - invited them to King Tut’s earlier this month after hearing them perform at another venue in the city.

Allan said: “It’s been the highlight of our career so far. We were supporting one of the guys that was in the band Athlete.

“The promoter afterwards said he was really chuffed with our performance and he would like to have us back because we had pulled it out the bag.”

Their set list featured eight self-penned songs, and Allan said: “It was quite simply the best gig we have ever played.”
