THE free Proper Gray Matters exhibition by Alasdair Gray displaying drawings, screen prints and paintings, is open at Linlithgow Burgh Halls until Sunday, March 18.

Jim Walker, executive councillor for culture and leisure at West Lothian Council, said: “Gray has consistently proven himself to be one of Scotland’s top creative talents of the last 30 years.

‘‘This exhibition, and the workshops around it, will give West Lothian residents the chance to experience the unique work of Gray first hand.”

Alasdair Gray will visit the Burgh Halls on Tuesday, February 21, from 7-9pm, to discuss his visual biography, ‘A Life in Pictures.’ Tickets are free, but need to be booked in advance.

*A printmaking workshop led by Barbara-Ann Hall on the techniques Alasdair Gray uses to create his artwork will take place on Saturday, March 3, from 10am-4pm in the Provost Lawrie Hall and tickets cost £25 (£23 concession).

*Award-winning author Rodger Glass will talk about his book, ‘Alasdair Gray: A Secretary’s Biography’, covering the three years he spent as his personal assistant at the Burgh Halls on Tuesday, March 13, from 7pm.
