Take a trip down memory lane in South Queensferry, Linlithgow and Bo'ness

WITH the Bo'ness Children's Fair on the horizon at the end of next month, our vintage photo this week shows a Fair fundraiser from 1977.

Those pictured were taking part in 'South Pacific' at the town hall, under the expert production of Douglas Snedden, currently known as the voice of the Fair.

The show was put on from scratch in just four weeks.

Pictured among the male chorus of 1977 are late twins Joe and John (Bo'ness Journal reporter) McLaren, the late Daily Express reporter Tom Grant, Peter Aitken, the late butcher Charlie Frank, and the late ex-Partick Thistle footballer Bobby Gibb.

The opening night was attended by Theodore B Dobbs, USA consul general, who returned to Bo'ness the following year to soak up the Fair itself with his wife and family.
