IN THE week that Bo’ness has chosen a new fair queen-elect we print a picture from a fair or gala day from a long time ago!
There’s nothing on the picture to identify the year or the occasion but there is, at least, a caption. It reads: Back row (l-r) Jessie Millar, Maggie Millar, Jane A Spowart, Petra Thomson, Katie Braithwaite.

*LAST week’s picture stirred up a fair bit of interest amongst readers who declared it was of the staff at St Magdalene’s Distillery on the Old Edinburgh Road and dated from the 1960s. The reason though for the pic remains obscure.
